My insight about Strep Throat (just from experience and some reading):

1-      What: It is a natural infection. We all most likely carry the bacteria.
2-      Why: We become ill because of the followings:
a.       Weakened immune system due to stress, overwork, tiredness, close contact with foreign bacteria to our bodies.
b.      Sinus congestion and inflammation make the grounds ready for our natural or foreign bacteria to attack sensitive tissues in and around the throat.
3-      How: To get cured we need to do the following:
a.       Use strong antibiotics (Consult with your doctor)
b.      Rest and use lots of clear fluids, (no vitamin d rich contents because vitamin d is the food for the bacteria, orange juice, and milk are two no no liquids.
c.       Treat the sinus congestion
d.      Have a full and warm stomach at all time.
e.       Stay away from stress
4-      When: The course of treatment is long sometimes  stretches to months so:
a.       After you finished your antibiotics and feel you are ok, wash all your cloths, bed sheets, pillow cases towels and dishes. (you are not cured yet, the antibiotic has weakened your body so you are just ready for anther strain of strep throat).
b.      Throw away your tooth brush
c.       Gargle very weak but warm salt water every night.
d.      Avoid sinus congestions
e.       Start using vitamin d reached fluids to build up your immune system
f.       Avoid stress and get a good rest.
5-      Remember strep throat is not caused by cold weather. It is a combination of weak immune system, sinus congestions and malnutrition. If you have all the three conditions right you can get infected by strep throat in the most clean environment ever because the bacteria naturally lives in you.
